David R. Mack, M.D. is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who has been a part of the Houston medical community since 1986.

Dr. Mack is a Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude, graduate of the University of Texas, as well as an Alpha Omega Alpha graduate of Baylor College of Medicine in the Texas Medical Center. He then traveled abroad to pursue his training in the specialties of knee and shoulder surgery, observing and assisting world-renowned orthopedic surgeons in Bern and Fribourg, Switzerland, and Melbourne, Australia.

He then returned to Houston to establish his private practice in 1995, and has been an active member of the medical community ever since. He has served as head team physician for the Jersey Village High School Falcons, and has cared for athletes of all levels from the Cy-Fair, Klein, and Tomball Independent School Districts, as well as recreational and collegiate athletes throughout Houston and Southwest Texas.

Dr. Mack is an avid runner and triathlete, and has lectured to various athletic and fitness clubs on physical fitness and athletic training. He has also appeared on television and radio as a consultant for Channel 11 news and KTRH radio.

Dr. Mack's special interests are in reconstructive surgery of the knee, shoulder, and hip. In his busy practice, he routinely performs knee arthroscopy, meniscus repair, ACL reconstruction, cartilage transplantation and the Carticel® procedure, as well as unicompartmental and total knee replacement. He is one of only a few surgeons in Houston trained in the Zimmer® Minimally Invasive (MIS) Quadriceps Sparing Total Knee Replacement, a promising technique offering many patients shorter hospitalization, smaller incisions, and accelerated recovery from total knee replacement.

In addition, Dr.Mack routinely performs shoulder arthroscopy, arthroscopic and minimally invasive rotator cuff repair, arthroscopic shoulder ligament repair and reconstruction, and total shoulder replacement.

His practice also includes care of most broken bones and fractures, as well as a variety of common conditions including shoulder, arm, elbow, and wrist pain, hip pain and arthritis, knee and ankle sprains, and other sports injuries.

Dr. Mack is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the Texas Orthopedic Association, the Texas Medical Association, the Houston Orthopaedic Society, and the Harris County Medical Society. He has written, published, and spoken at national orthopedic surgery meetings on knee arthroscopy and ACL reconstruction. He has served in various leadership positions at Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center, including as Chief of Surgery.

Dr. Mack practices out of the North Cypress and Willowbrook offices, and performs surgery at North Cypress Medical Center, Methodist Willowbrook Hospital and Cy-Fair Surgery Center.
