Tomball High School and Cy-Springs Students Win AOSM Future Medical Professionals Scholarships

Advanced Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine expanded from a single physician to 20 physicians with specialties of their own over the course of the past 40 years. The practice, which began in a single office, is now composed of four offices in the Northwest and Northeast Houston community.

We are proud to be one of the few remaining privately held orthopedic groups in this region, and we value our independence greatly. One of the primary reasons we maintain it is our accountability to the community. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were exploring novel ways of giving back. That is when we developed a scholarship program, which led to the introduction of the AOSM Future Medical Professionals Scholarship.

In its third year, we are honored to provide two $1,500 scholarships to deserving students in 2025. Congratulations to Bridget Rodriguez of Tomball ISD and Taja Swoope of Cypress Springs High School! Both winners made us proud with their commitment to getting involved in the community, their studies, and their enthusiasm for assisting others.

We are proud of the individuals they are today and look forward to where life leads them next. Our Joint Replacement physician, Dr. Tyler P. Roberts, awarded the scholarship to Bridget Rodriguez on May 1st, 2025, at Tomball High School (left picture). Joseph Mathews, PT, DPT, and Marketing Manager Melisa Martinez awarded Taja Swoope on May 7th at the Berry Center(right picture).

The Scholarships will reopen to graduating seniors in November 2025 for Spring 2026 graduates.
