Dr. Tessier also earned his medical degree from The University of Texas School of Medicine in San Antonio where he also completed his internship and residency. Most recently, Dr. Tessier received his Fellowship at Fellowship Orthopaedic Sports Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Tessier specializes in sports medicine with a focus on the latest techniques in arthroscopy and treatment of sports-related injuries, as well as open and arthroscopic treatment of hip, knee, shoulder and elbow injuries. In addition, he treats cartilage injuries in the knee with articular cartilage implantation and meniscal transplantation.

Dr. Tessier has served as an assistant team physician with the University of Alabama, the University of West Alabama, Jacksonville State University, the Birmingham Barons (AA affiliate of the Chicago White Sox) and high schools throughout the Birmingham metro area.

Dr. Tessier and his wife have three children. In his spare time, he participates in wildlife habitat management and enjoys football, baseball, hunting, fishing and other outdoor recreational activities with his family.

Rebecca is a board certified family nurse practitioner from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Prior to practicing at Advanced Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, she worked in Urgent/Emergency medicine as well as chronic care clinic and acute settings. Rebecca received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Houston Baptist University. She received a Bachelor of Arts from University of Colorado and Bachelors of Science in Nursing from University of Texas. As a registered nurse, Rebecca worked in the Emergency Department specializing in trauma as well as surgical services. Rebecca is also a veteran of the United States Army and was stationed in Germany, 1st Armored Division. As extracurricular activities, Rebecca enjoys hiking and cycling. She has foreign language proficiency in German and Spanish.
