Brian Vial, M.D.
Dr. Brian Vial, the latest addition to Advanced Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, is a fellowship-trained hand, wrist, and upper extremity surgeon specializing in operative and non-operative treatment of fractures from the hand to the shoulder, nerve entrapment such as carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel syndrome, trigger fingers, peripheral nerve injuries, tendon injuries, rotator cuff tears, and arthritis of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. He also holds an interest in targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR), a surgery that can alleviate post-operative nerve pain for amputees. Dr. Vial enjoys the complexity of upper extremity surgery and utilizes a multimodal, evidence-based approach to treatment. He believes that the best outcomes occur when the patient shares in the decision-making process; therefore, he prioritizes ensuring his patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options.
Originally from Katy, Texas, Dr. Brian Vial spent his childhood in the Cinco Ranch area. He graduated with his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 2010. He then moved to the Texas Medical Center in Houston to attend medical school at Baylor College of Medicine where he graduated in 2014. He went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine in 2019. He received the prestigious Bronze Hammer Award, given yearly to one fourth-year resident and voted on by faculty and peers in residency. This award provided the opportunity for him to complete an AO Trauma Fellowship in Barcelona, Spain, during his chief year. During his fourth year of residency, his chairman and program director selected him to represent the program at the AOA Resident Leadership Forum. Dr. Brian Vial then went on to complete his fellowship training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2020. This was a unique experience as he trained with both plastic and orthopedic surgeons, affording him a wide breadth of operative skills for the hand and upper extremity. He is excited to move back to the Houston area and join our team here at AOSM in August 2020.
In addition to his medical interests, he enjoys spending time with his wife, new daughter, and labradoodle Barley. His personal interests include sports, trivia, traveling, world history, and movies.

What Our Patients Are Saying
I never review places or services on Facebook, but I could not let others know how blessed I was to have Dr. Cubbage as my surgeon. He and his lovely staff, including awesome Karen,

Dr. Patel is a very good Pain Management Doctor. She is one of my favorite doctors.

For the first time in many years and many knee operations on one leg I am without any knee pain. This is a result of a procedure performed by Dr. Patel.

Dr. Tanous and everyone at Advanced Orthopaedics are great. The surgery to repair my knee injury and the treatment afterwards were handled amazingly well.

Dr. Blalock did surgery on my broken wrist on Tuesday. I liked him a lot as did my husband. Took time to explain everything in detail even though his phone was ringing non-stop.

The surgery done by Dr. S. Patel (Actually injections) & the mild medications she has prescribed has surely made my lower back -hip-leg less painful.

Excellent care and attention to patients. I recently had a total hip replacement and I am able to walk 6 weeks after surgery with no cane.

Dr. David R. Mack replaced my right hip in June 2009, and my left in October 2010. I am already able to go places and do things on my own again.

I have found the staff to be courteous and professional. Lynn and Julie were wonderful to work with and took good care of me. And Dr. Brooks and Dr. Mack are excellent

Everyone here is so professional and kind. Everything was explained to me so that could understand what had to be done.
