This year, Advanced Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is celebrating being in this great community for 40 years. In the last 40 years, we have grown from a single provider to over 40 providers and from one location to three area locations. Our great organization is one of the last privately owned orthopedic groups on the northwest side of Houston, and we take great pride in our independence.
Part of why we have been able to maintain this independence is due to our involvement in the community. While brainstorming ways to give back to the community post-COVID, the idea of a scholarship erupted, and thus was born the AOSM Future Medical Professionals Scholarship.
This is the second year that we have offered this scholarship, and this year we received 50 applications. We’re excited to be here today to present a $1500 scholarship to a classmate of Bridgeland High School, Ms. Brooke Hensley. This student provided a moving and inspiring essay, as well as an incredible transcript. We are both very proud of the person she is and we are excited to see the person she becomes. Her interest in physical therapy was close to our hearts, as we have a very robust PT department here at AOSM, and her efforts in the community in shadowing and her initiative in taking on accelerated health-related course work were both additional reasons why we chose this recipient
Dr. R. Alexander Mohr awarded the AOSM Future Medical Professionals Scholarship on May 15, 2023 at Bridgeland High School. The scholarship will reopen for graduating seniors in November 2023 for those graduating in Spring 2024.
