Patient Testimonials of Stacy Bacon, MD

Fun Times at Dr. Bacon’s Office. A year or two ago while recovering from foot surgery, I needed to come in the office to have a “walking cast put on to replace the fabric boot I was using during recovery. The wheelchair would not fit through the door to the casting room so Dr. Bacon and Jose had to lift me up and carry me into the room. Well, at 6’1” and 200 lbs. they struggled but finally succeeded leaving us to wonder who designed the door to a casting room to be too narrow for a wheelchair. Some fun!

In 2009 I broke my big left toe badly. I went to see another Doctor, and they told me nothing could be done.I suffered with it for 2 years. The bone was degenerating, and healing misshaped. I heard Dr. Bacon was the orthopedic surgeon for Rice University sports teams, so I made an appointment, and after looking at the x-rays, she determined that it could be fixed. She performed the surgery and within a month my toe and foot were amazingly better; better than I ever hoped for. I am actively engaged in martial arts and, thanks to her, I will be inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2 weeks. I could never have achieved this honor without Dr. Bacon’s magic touch.

Dr. Bacon, I can never thank you enough for what you have done for me and for my daughter, Melia. In 2011, on the first anniversary of my surgery, my wife and I walked for two hours on Copacabana beach in Rio. I also completed a four hour nature walk over rough terrain in The Falklands and hiked to del Fin del Terre at the tip of South America. You are truly a great doctor, and I thank God every day for you and for Dr. Fogarty who recommended you for Melia’s surgery.

I wanted to take some time and write to you about Dr. Stacy Bacon. Two years ago on August 25, 2009 I fell off a balcony and shattered my ankle, tibea, and fibula. I went to the emergency room and they said I would need to see an Orthopedic Surgeon because the break was so severe. On August 26, 2009 I went and met with Dr. Bacon she came in and evaluated my leg and foot and said I had a serious break and I was going to have to undergo a lot to get healed.

In the last two years I have undergone eight surgeries, three external fixators, and finally amputating the leg. I have had a lot of ups and downs in the last two years and through it all Dr. Bacon was amazing. She has always shown real concern and passion about me – she has at times made me feel like someone in her family that was hurt.

Now that my leg has been amputated I am so happy because I know there is a true end in sight and I will get my life back. The only sad part is this means there is also an end in sight for my relationship with Dr. Bacon.

I would like you to know that Dr. Stacy Bacon is an amazing person and an amazing doctor. Every time I meet someone and they ask me who my doctor is and I tell them Dr. Bacon I hear the same thing. Oh My God she is awesome, she helped my nephew, my child, my husband, wife and the list goes on. She has helped a ton of people and she has helped me. We tried everything under the moon and stars to save my leg, but it wasn’t meant to be and that’s ok – trust me I am so excited about my new life I just can’t put it into words.

For the rest of my life I will hold Dr. Stacy Bacon in the highest regard and I would recommend her and this company to everyone I know. Advanced Orthopedics’ should be honored to have someone like Dr. Bacon representing them.

Dear Dr Bacon,

I wanted to thank you for helping with my ankle.

If you recall I came to you for a second opinion after it was recommended I get an OATS procedure for an osteochondral defect. You recommended a far less invasive procedure and I am so incredibly happy I went with you! I wanted to let you know that I played a game of soccer with my boys (6, 10, & 13) last night and for the first time in two years did so with absolutely no pain during or after. I’ve been cycling on a stationary bike and feel awesome and now I’m happy to say that for almost 100% of the time I forget about my ankle because it simply doesn’t hurt anymore. I just can’t begin to explain how happy I am with the success of this surgery, I can’t believe I almost went with OATS.

My main purpose for getting the surgery was to ensure that my boys didn’t have a Dad who couldn’t play or run around and have fun, and I can honestly say that I’ve met that goal. You’ve made my life a thousand times better! Thanks again!!
– Dirk Z.
